EGEE UKI

Welcome to the UKI Federation site. This website provides information on activities in the UK and Ireland relating to the EGEE project, in particular regional GRID operations supported by the UKI Regional Operations Centre (ROC) as well as GRID Training Events and News from the UK and Ireland.

The UK and Ireland Federation have eight partners involved in the EGEE project - CCLRC, DANTE Ltd, Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Oxford and Imperial College, London and the Trinity College Dublin.

These UKI partners between them cover all Networking Activities of the EGEE Project of Management, Dissemination, Training, Application Identification and Support and Policy and International Cooperation. A number of partners are also involved in the Service Activities, mainly European Grid Support, Operation and Management, but also Networking Support and Integration, Testing and Certification. CCLRC are also involved in the Middleware Re-engineering activity.

There are also two further 'Contracting' partners who have signed a memorandum with EGEE: The Centre for Advanced Computing and Emerging Technologies in Reading and the University of Leeds.

Regional Operations Centre

The Regional Operations Centre has a key role in the process of building and operating the infrastructure. The ROC will have the expertise to assist the growing number of Resource Centres in joining the infrastructure, through the deployment of middleware releases and the development of procedures and capabilities to operate those resources.
